In honor of my Birthday, I am partnering with an incredible organization, Innovation: Africa.
I didn’t have the opportunity to do this for my Bat Mitzvah, but it’s never too late!
Innovation: Africa is a non-profit organization with a mission to bring Israeli solar, water and agricultural technologies to rural African villages. To date, the organization has completed over 700 projects, providing light and solar energy to schools and medical centers and most importantly, pumping clean water to over 3.4 million people across 10 African countries.
It is difficult for us in our privileged lives to imagine but there are hundreds of thousands of people in Africa who don’t have access to clean water. This is life in Dore Village, the village I have chosen for my “Give Back” project.
I am delighted to be raising funds to install a solar water pumping system in Dore Village in Cameroon. Home to 4,350 community members, this village is in desperate need of access to clean water. The women and children, who are predominately required to collect water, are forced to walk kilometers each day in search of water from open and contaminated sources, which ultimately leads to severe waterborne diseases.
Together, we can radically change the lives of these wonderful children and all the people in the village.
Instead of Birthday Gifts, I want to give the gift of water to the people of Dore Village. With your support, we will be able to transform this community and provide them with lifelong access to safe and clean water.
