Hi, thanks for visiting our team page! We are three teenagers living in New York, named Matthew, Robert and Jonathan. We have founded the Innovation Africa New York and Connecticut Region to help those living in extreme poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The lack of energy and its implications on the African continent are major problems that need resolving. Currently, children are born by the light of Kerosene lamps, maternal health care is low, and children don't have access to vaccinations for diseases such as tetanus and polio.

Electricity is something we take for granted here in the United States, used for our computers and video games, but the same can't be said about Sub-Saharan Africa. To them, electricity is a life-saving necessity, allowing for vaccines to be refrigerated for usage, mother's to give birth at night with lights, and therefore lessen the rate of maternal death at childbirth. Also, electricity allows for quality medical care to those sick and in need.

Our current regional goal is $10,000 to fund a medical center and school in Sub-Saharan Africa with lights, electricity, beds, and refrigerators for vaccinations. The medical center will be able to boost maternal healthcare rates, ensure babies are properly delivered, store vaccines, and improve the overall well-being of up to 40,000 people!

After the medical center is established we will be pursuing the goal of raising an additional five thousand dollars dedicated to bringing water technology to a village in Sub-Saharan Africa. One water tap will provide 3,000 liters a day of  clean drinking water. Water is essential for human survival and generates health economic advancement wherever it flows. As of now there are 350 Million people living in sub-saharan Africa in need of clean water. They are forced to drink dirty water because they don't have the power they need to pump clean water up from below ground. 1.8 Billion people now use water contaminated with faeces, putting them at risk of contracting cholera, dysentery and typhoid.

We are looking for active members who would like to share our common goal of bringing a brighter future to thousands of African children. For those interested, we will be holding meetings and events.
